What campsite restrictions are there?
Each campsite / rental = ONE family (2 adults w/dependent unmarried children)- one RV or tent - one vehicle, per site fee. Maximum of 6 persons usually allowed at one site. An additional 2 - 3 person size sleeping tent (height less than 50 inches) may be used on specific sites only placed next to RV and with prior notice to Office ($$). All rentals have a maximum number of people allowed in units due to fire codes. A responsible (21 years or older) adult is required for all campsite reservations and must be present during stay. All extra vehicles, trailers, etc. must be registered with a car tag. Extra fees apply ($8.00 each, per night). Parking is not allowed on the grass areas of the sites. We reserve the right to substitute a site of equal hookup, we do our best to honor most requests but cannot guarantee. Site numbers are not given out until arrival just for this reason. A Big Rig towing a big trailer (car or otherwise), must be on a pull thru site.
How about a tent site?
Same one immediate family/vehicle/6 person limit as above applies. Tent sites are either grass or pads. ONE large (6 - 10 man size) tent OR two smaller (5 man size or less) allowed per site. If the tent site has a pad then ALL tents must be placed on this pad. Sorry, no pets allowed at tent sites. Tents must be up by 10 pm! Keep this in mind when making your reservation.
Can I put up a table canopy or screen room?
A screen room is allowed provided it does not interfere with your neighbors, fire rings, trails, utilities, etc., and is no larger than 12' x 12'. Groups may obtain permission for a larger canopy or screen room from the Kampground prior to arrival.
Can I put a tent up by my RV?
RVs with a tent (for immediate dependent small children - not an additional family) are limited to a single 2-3 person size tent (no larger than 7 x 7 x 48" high) placed next to the RV on specific sites only. (Certain sections of the parks do not allows extra tents.) No oversized tents will be allowed - these must go on a separate regular tent site. There is a $5 fee per night charge for a tent along with an RV on a campsite.
I am renting a Cabin/Studio/Large Lodge - what should I expect?
Each unit type has restrictions on the amount of people allowed. Do not bring extra people over this amount as they will not be allowed to stay with you. All sites have an outdoor table, fire ring, and charcoal or gas grill. Cooking is done outside the Cabin or Studio rentals. Cabins do not have bathrooms in them, but are located near bathhouses open 24 hours (except brief cleaning times posted.) Remember, you are camping! These rentals are subject to the great outdoors just like all campsites are. If you leave doors open, do not be surprised to see bugs, ants, etc. (a swatter can be purchased in the store.) Sorry, these sites are not suitable for large screen rooms or dining canopies. NO PETS OR SMOKING ALLOWED IN RENTAL UNITS. You must check into rental before store closes - call for season office hours. Campground does not provide late night staff as a motel/hotel does. Check-in starts at 3pm, check-outs by 11:30am. Sorry no late rental check-outs allowed.
We left a little early, can we check in?
Our check-in time STARTS AFTER 3pm. We may not be able to accommodate arrivals before 3pm. If we can accommodate you, an extra charge will be required. Sorry, we do not have a waiting area for early arrivals and only registered guests may use our facility. We need time between check-out and check-in to clean campsites, and do camp maintenance. Sorry, no early arrivals allowed for any rentals.
How late can I arrive?
No one likes late, noisy arrivals and we do not have late office hours. During Summer, the staffed office is usually open until 9pm; 10pm on Friday and Saturday. Off season we close earlier - call for office times. Arrivals must be planned to arrive before store closing. Areas of our camp are very dark and difficult to get into sites at night - thus causing unwanted noise.
Can I just drive in and get a spot?
Reservations are always suggested, especially during Summer months. Walk-ins are accepted as sites are available. A night registration desk is provided for after office hours. You must follow procedures listed, including picking a site from those listed only and paying the site fee, change will be provided the next morning. This must be done before occupying a campsite (State Law).
When is Check-out?
Check-out is BY 11:30am. RV site late checkouts may be available in Spring or Fall time only, with extra charge (if site not previously rented.) Checking-out means exiting the site and leaving the campground. Sorry, you cannot check-out of the site and go sit by the pool or visit for the day with other people staying.
Do you have Wi-Fi?
Yes, it is free limited Wi-Fi for our registered campers only. Free Wi-Fi is provided in 1 hour increments. Downloading movies is prohibited. Due to multiple factors: wide area, your equipment limits, trees, weather, your neighbors' air card, or my-Fi, etc. this free service is not guaranteed. Air waves are funny like that!
Can I bring my pets?
Many of our campers wish to bring their pets along with them. Having your pet with you while camping bring with it a lot of responsibility. To ensure everyone's safety and comfort, pet owners must observe the following rules:
I'm expecting visitors - what is required? The rules for
We understand that you might like to invite a nearby guest or two to your campsite for a meal or a few hours to share. We also understand that many of our campers came here for a quiet getaway and do not wish to be disturbed by large groups, too much noise, etc. Our facilities are also built to accommodate only so many persons and vehicles. Visitors bring with them added expense for the campground utilities, extra parking needs, security (State & Federal laws require us to keep track of who is in the park,) liability and more. With the volume of campers we see, there is no way for us to police each visitor independently on what they may or may not do while in the park. THEREFORE ALL visitors must register and pay the fees established by us, NO EXCEPTIONS. If not, there are many fine restaurants and attractions in the area to visit with them. Please contact the desk for suggestions on places to meet with your friends and family.

Are alcoholic beverages allowed?
It is allowed on your campsite only! Inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated and will result in eviction without refund.
Can we ride bicycles?
Our roads are primarily gravel and we are a hilly area. Families do ride their bicycles regularly in the campground or take them to the nearby Conewago Recreation Trail. Pennsylvania law states children under 12 must wear a helmet. No bicycle riding after dark in the park.
Do you sell firewood?
YES! We have bundled, kiln-dried firewood that can be purchased from our store. Transporting firewood from outside of the immediate area of the campground is a common way of transporting disease and specific ash borer insects that kill trees. Transportation of firewood across state lines is restricted by the United States Department of Agriculture. We ask that our campers do their best to prevent the spread of pests by not bringing firewood in from outside of Lancaster County. Here is more information on the Emerald Ash Borer.
Can I bring firearms?
No firearms, BB guns, sling shots, bows / arrows, paint ball weapons, pellet or other projectile firing weapons are permitted.
Wow! 4th of July! Can I bring fireworks?
PA State Law prohibits the use of Consumer & Display Fireworks in Pennsylvania without a permit. Items such as "ground and hand-held sparkling and smoky devices, novelties, and toy caps" are permitted.
Can we fish at the campground?
We have a catch & release fishing pond. You do not need a license to use it. The pond is stocked with Bass, Bluegill and Catfish. The record so far, a 34" Channel Catfish estimated at 25 lbs. We have limited bamboo poles available for rent from the store and bait, too!
Is there anywhere else to fish nearby?
The Susquehanna River is just down the road with a boat launch and public fishing access.
When are your quiet hours?
11pm - 7am Children of all ages should be at their campsite, not roaming around. Bike riding after dark is prohibited. All campsite lights must be turned out when you retire along with dousing the fire. NO excessive noise allowed. Sorry, if you were expecting to party through the night, you are at the wrong campground! Tents must be up before 10pm!
